Chelebi proudly took part in the inaugural edition of TAAD, Israel’s first international design and art showcase, held from March 5–11, 2025. We presented a curated selection from Furniture Collection, bringing a contemporary interpretation of Azerbaijani craftsmanship to a new audience.
TAAD, founded by art historian and curator Maria Nasimov, aims to connect the global design scene with local Israeli enthusiasts. This first edition was curated under the theme “Everyday Wonder” by internationally renowned curator Maria Cristina Didero, celebrating objects that elevate daily life through design.
Chelebi introduced several key pieces at the fair:
Hezri Armchair & Sofa — Embodying the regality of Azerbaijani history, these plush, sculptural seating pieces embrace the user with waves of comfort. “Hezri,” meaning “wave,” captures the caring, enveloping mood of the design.
Bugelemun Coffee Table — Crafted in mahogany with individually cut mosaic patterns and supported by glossy colored spheres, this table merges artistry with utility. “Bugelemun,” or “lizard,” alludes to the textured, scale-like surface of the piece.
Katib Commode — A solid oak chest of drawers that blends timeless elegance with modern form. Inspired by ornamental elements of Azerbaijani architecture, “Katib” refers to a classic commode once found in noble homes.
All pieces were developed in collaboration with the London–Moscow-based Saga architectural bureau, led by architect Alina Kvirkvelia.
Chelebi’s presence at TAAD reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to reviving and reimagining local heritage through contemporary design — a bridge between past and present, crafted for a global audience.
